Young film-makers
Lithuanian Union of Persons with Disabilities, in collaboration with its partners carry out an annual project “Disability not a barrier.” Mission of the project – educational. Short film program visually draw attention to the stereotypes associated with disabilities, to raise public issues and to contribute to the disability rights. Each year film program are directed to other sectors of society. Organisers experience shows that cinema modern man is easily understood form of non-formal education.
Project within the framework of landscape Monciškės therapy and recreation center, the only place in Lithuania where the environment is perfectly suited for people with mobility impairments are held annually for 10 days plein air. This – a unique opportunity for young filmmakers to know people with disabilities the world, gaining a new social experience for people with disabilities – to gain new experiences and skills in the field of filmmaking.
Plein Air involved people with physical disabilities, students and volunteers. During the meeting of music, theater and film academy students, Academy of Art students and young people (peers) with special needs which short films on topics relevant to young people. Sub-themes selected by the young people during the debate. Participants during the meeting which scenario filming, plays the film soundtrack.
Film program “Disability no obstacle” is displayed in the major cities of cultural spaces, cinemas and mainstream institutions.
